LIKE MOST PEOPLE, I am a composite of many things. One of those things is “Multiple Myeloma patient.”
Some might say that’s a tough break, and I suppose it is. Myeloma is a cancer of the bone marrow cells that produce plasma cells in the blood. It can kill you. Finding this out in Summer of 2013 was a life-changing experience, to put it mildly.
It is also a rare opportunity to better understand who I am and to put the other things that I am into superior perspective — husband, father, friend, businessman, writer, analyst, citizen, humanist, creative being.
I created this journal as a means of sharing with family and friends the Myeloma journey. It’s not a path I chose, but I am determined to travel it well.
There is, and will be, a lot to say.
